Below, you’ll find an overview of the experiences that shape After School at Gaynor.

An Extension of the School Day

The Gaynor After School Program extends the school day into a joyful, enriching space where students from the Primary Division through the Upper Division can explore interests, build friendships, and grow in confidence. Designed to complement Gaynor’s individualized academic program, After School offers students a balance of structure, creativity, and fun that supports their development both in and out of the classroom.

A Welcoming Daily Routine

Each afternoon, students transition from their academic day into a welcoming environment where they choose a snack, connect with peers, and head off to activities that spark curiosity and excitement. Whether gathering in the Field House, Library, or shared spaces across campus, students take pride in the routines and independence that come with being part of the After School community.

A Wide Range of Activities

Our robust course catalog offers something for every learner. Students can participate in athletics such as basketball, soccer, floor hockey, lacrosse, and flag football, as well as creative and exploratory classes including cooking, drawing and painting, musical theater, fashion design, animation and film, chess, yoga, singing, dancing, and scientific exploration. These experiences encourage students to take risks, try new things, and discover their unique strengths.

Led by Experienced Educators

Classes are led by Gaynor’s talented faculty alongside trusted outside instructors who understand how to create engaging, supportive environments for students with learning differences. Across all activities, instructors emphasize collaboration, perseverance, self-expression, and confidence, which are skills that carry directly into the classroom and everyday life.

Executive Function Enrichment

Older students in the Intermediate and Upper Divisions may also participate in Executive Function Enrichment, a specialized program that helps students strengthen goal-setting, organization, planning, and self-monitoring skills. This class supports students as they prepare for the increased independence and academic expectations of the Upper Division and high school.

Executive Function Enrichment

The After School Program also offers Study Hall, where Gaynor teachers support students with homework, long-term assignments, and organization. Students receive guidance in time management, strategy use, and self-advocacy, helping them stay on track and feel confident in their academic responsibilities. Families may enroll students on a semester basis or as needed.
More Than Enrichment
At Gaynor, After School is more than enrichment—it is another way we help students grow into confident, capable learners who know themselves and believe in their ability to succeed.
