SUMMER CAMP

Supporting Skills
All Summer.

Stephen Gaynor School offers Summer Camp for students in the Primary Division and Lower Division. Our camps allow students to enjoy a wide variety of summer activities while maintaining important academic skills in a structured, supportive, and enjoyable environment.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Designed for Learning and Fun.

Summer at Gaynor blends structure and fun, helping students maintain academic skills while exploring new interests. Each division’s program is thoughtfully designed to reflect students’ developmental needs.

Primary Division Summer Camp

Primary Division Summer Camp is designed and led by Gaynor’s team of special educators, speech-language pathologists, and occupational therapists. This six-week program focuses on the development of self-help, fine and gross motor, social, and cognitive skills. Using Orton-Gillingham–based instruction, children maintain the early reading skills developed during the academic year, while math skills are reinforced through small-group learning. Therapists and teachers work together to support students through engaging activities such as group games, cooking, arts and crafts, playground time, and local field trips.

Lower Division Summer Camp

Students in the Lower Division Summer Camp participate in a range of educational and enriching activities that reinforce and extend academic learning while embracing the fun of summer. Orton-Gillingham–trained faculty support students in maintaining and advancing reading skills through small-group instruction each morning. Afternoons include a variety of activities such as sports, arts and crafts, science exploration, music and drama, cooking, water play, and field trips to local points of interest.
